In addition to our dinner meetings, we are also hosting the 2010 Winter Meeting this month. I’d like to thank those that have taken time out of their jobs and personal life to plan for this event. The Winter Meeting is going to be an awesome event!! And if you’re too old to know what a Wii is, or if you haven’t had the chance to try one out, come visit us at the Member’s Night Out on January 26th.
Looking beyond the winter meeting, we are also fortunate enough to have Gordon Holness speak at our February meeting. This will be the fourth year in a row that Central Florida has hosted the ASHRAE president. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 9th. Please note that this is not on a Thursday (so I better not hear that as an excuse)!
The 8th annual shrimp boil will be on March 25th at the Winter Park Farmers’ Market. Eight times!!! You’d think we like shrimp. We are also trying something new this year with our first dodgeball tournament. If you feel like throwing something as hard as you can at me, anyone else on the board, or any other ASHRAE member, well bring it! For those of you that don’t come to our chapter meetings and don’t really feel like participating in our chapter, suck it up and come have some fun. Not coordinated enough to throw a ball? Maybe you should try our spring golf tournament. Let’s face it, we have something for everyone. If you can’t find anything that draws you to us, let us know how we can entice you. This is your chapter!
Be sure to read our history article for this month’s Dewpoint – an interview of our immediate past president, Wade Conlan, PE. You can also access the interview by clicking here.
