What’s New in Student Activites?

What a year for Student Activities! Our student members at UCF continue to showcase their talent and dedication on the world stage, taking 1st place in the design category of the 2010 ASHRAE International Design Competition! The winning submission can be downloaded from our website at ashrae-cfl.org. Many thanks go out to the ASHRAE mentors that provided instruction and guidance to our student design teams. We look forward to continuing success from our student members, and furthering our relationship with UCF.

The theme for Student Activities this year is Professional Partnership. We are working with other student professional organizations such as SWE, ASCE, and FES on cooperative agendas to perpetuate interest in engineering and discuss
the common dilemmas we face as an engineering community. We will be partnering with these organizations in service oriented events, including K-12 outreach programs.

After co-chairing Student Activities in 2008-2009, chairing the committee in 09-10, and successfully mentoring the student members of the UCF design team to victory, Anik Patel will be moving up to the new position of chapter Treasurer. KellieWatson will continue to serve as Co-Chair, providing valuable mentoring services to the student members. We are excited to move into the new year and growing our successful student program!
