For 2011-2012, the chapter has scheduled a number of events including a refrigeration tour, tech topic sessions, and our 3rd Annual YEA Dodgeball Tournament!
In November, we will have an industry tour of a local facility, (exact date and time TBA). All of our members are welcome to attend the tour and social that follows. Past tours have proven to be great opportunities for members to see large scale refrigeration systems in operation.
Tech topic sessions give YEA members an additional look at the main speaker’s topic and an opportunity to meet students and young professionals from our chapter.
The 3rd Annual YEA Dodgeball Tournament will be held in the spring of 2012. Last year’s tournament was highly competitive and this year’s event should be even more so. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the excitement as we continue to improve the Dodgeball tradition!
Similar to previous years, our mentorship program will continue. This program creates an opportunity for professional partnership between a YEA member (young engineer, recent graduate, or student) and a professional member from our chapter. The experienced professional provides assistance and resources for the young member’s transition from college to the work industry (such as interview preparation, career path guidance, and professional development). This year, we are looking to form five groups (each group consists of one mentor and one mentee). Every member of this chapter can participate in this program.
